Nowadays my first job is to check up the
notifications of social media when I wake up from bed. Social media is important
in my life because I love to use it to communicate with others. I and my wife are
living far away from our parents, so we have to use it to communicate with
them. I have used it for doing my study projects and for work purpose.
Let’s talk about social media. Social
media is an online platform where people communicated through sharing content
for a specific community and they engage in delivering dialogues, interaction
and collaboration. For instance, the most well-known social media channels are
Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google +, Tumblr, Instagram tiktok,
viber, WhatsApp, Tinder and snapchat. I know all of these but I am using Facebook,
YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Viber and WhatsApp. I am not using tinder, tiktok
snapchat because I am not so young to use these platform and I am a introverted
guy so I only uses those what I need to communicate. When I was teenage I used
to spend a lot of time in social media, do not know why but I felt good to
talk, comments and visiting profile of others.
Netflix is the one who is using social
media in effective way. Netflix is an online streaming platfrom where you can watch
movies, serials, documentary etc and all of these contents are making in
different languages. All of the episode of Netflix release at a time so they
need to use social media in a way that everyone get alert about it. Mainly Netflix
uses Facebook, they use geo-targeting for targeting audience, it helps them to
provide relevant information to the relevant audience. Every three and half
hours they post something in somewhere in the internet where it comes to the Facebook
newsfeed and they also post, use gif, videos, images and all the relevant
content of present shows, movies etc.
Netflix uses different regional account
of twitter where they use #NowOnNetflix
for the news, they also use trendy word with a little bit of humour to
entertain audience, for example ‘When your friend’s neighbor’s ex-boyfriend’s
grandma changes the password #Goosebumps’. When someone is watching something
on Netflix they also tweet as a result audience is also free marketing on
behalf of Netflix which works as word of mouth.
Instagram is the last one platform that
Netflix use where they have multiple regional accounts. They tend to post 2to 4
picture in a week which is related with the shows, some times celebrities, some
scene and videos.
They use social media platform to aware
and engage audience with their program. They are not like traditional channel,
so they built their strong presence in social media.
‘Just do it’ when we hear this we know
we are talking about Nike, The company manufacture sports ware,sports
euipement, shoes and etc. Nike active in many platforms, Nike football has more
follower than Nike Facebook page. Nike uses this page for
promotion, customer engagement, discussion and even for customer service. All
of the promotional materials are related to Nike products. Nike also post
images of the campaign that they are sponsoring different events.Nike has a good
marketing strategy that they use their signed sports stars to promote the
product which is very much influential to the target customers.
Like Facebook,
Nike uses twitter with multiple regional accounts. They use photos and videos
that keep flowing like a newsfeed and engage the customers and they also retweet
to the comments.
Nike also is
in google plus where they post the similar post like Facebook. In Instagram they
only post the pictures and videos of sports personnel some of them running,playing,
walking and celebrating their victory. In each picture there is a logo of Nike.

If I talk
about my community how they use social media I would say they are using it in a
positive way. We use it for communication, study even for the work purpose. For
example, if we see some job advertisement in linkedin, Facebook then we share
it with our friends. It is also giving us refreshment, sometimes some friends
share some funny moment picture which engage us again like old days. Google and
YouTube is a part of our life where whatever we want to do or learn we check it
in those platform.
Social media
could be blessing or harmful for somebody, but somebody cannot ignore it.
